Outgoing Football Kenya Limited (FKL) Chairman Mohamed Hatimy has urged losers in the just ended polls to rally behind the winner Sam Nyamweya. Hatimy said that after seven years full of wrangles, Nyamweya’s appointment should be the start of unity adding that he will support him in his endeavours. “We had many years of wrangles and infighting. But the good thing with Nyamweya is that he never keeps any grudge. We might have differed on opinion but we are friends and I wish him all the best.” Hatimy said though he had lost the polls, he would still be involved in the game, “I’m not out of football as many might assume. I am an active member of CAF organizing committee and one of the signatories in most of the decisions taken and hence will still be involved in the game.” Nyamweya garnered 1,461 votes while his closest rival Hussein Mohammed had 1183. Hatimy was third with 734 while Rachier was fourth with 333 votes. The other candidates were Sammy Obingo who withdrew in the eleventh hour with 54, Fred Awich(29) and Elizabeth Shako who garnered 22 votes.
